HOW ARE YOU FINDING JOY DURING THESE STRANGE TIMES?

I am finding joy during these times by keeping myself busy! Whether I am shooting new content for my blog, cracking open a new book, or baking a fun recipe with my stepson, I always try to spend my day doing at least one thing that brings me joy.

HOW DID YOU BECOME INVOLVED IN CONTENT CREATION?

I started blogging 8 years ago because I worked in a corporate office, and I was desperately searching for a creative outlet. My days were so black and white. I started reading blogs and loved not only the fashion and outfit styling, but also the idea of driving the whole creative process. It was almost like having your own little magazine and every day you got to come up with a new concept for the "editorial spread". That's what still makes me so excited about blogging even now.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE NEEDLE & THREAD STYLE FOR DRESSING UP AT HOME?

My favourite Needle and Thread Style for dressing up at home is the Chakra Ruffle Sun Dress in Rainbow. I love that it is so loose fitting and comfortable, and yet the ruffles and colourful design make it such a chic statement! When I wear it around the house, I feel like I have somewhere fabulous to go - even when I don't! And the colours always put a smile on my face.

WHAT IS YOUR NUMBER ONE STYLE HACK?

My number one style hack Is to always wear clothes that fit you well! If a button is puckering, or a dress is too tight, it will make you feel self-conscious. But if you wear a look that is perfectly tailored to fit, you will feel like a million bucks in an inexpensive dress.

ANY TIPS FOR THOSE TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE INFLUENCER COMMUNITY?

Consistency is key! Shoot content for a month before you launch your blog or Instagram, that way once you start posting, and gaining momentum, you will always have a back log of content. You never want to run out.

WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU WHEN CREATING NEW CONTENT?

For me it is really important to do things that other influencers aren't doing. Instagram is so saturated that I never want to feel like one of many. While there are so many of us, I want my content to feel fresh and different. Some days I audit my page and think what can I do today that is different from what anyone else is doing, and different from anything I've done before? That's when I start brainstorming. Sometimes it leads to me booking a fun trip for content, or even setting up a super elaborate tea party right in my backyard.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR FIRST VACATION POST LOCKDOWN?

As much as I would love to hop on a plane to Europe, I think my husband and I would probably go somewhere closer like Mexico. I've had my eye on Coqui Coqui Coba for the longest time. I'd love to finally make my dream of visiting that charming little boutique hotel a reality.
