SAVE THE CHILDREN CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY
Dedicated to improving the lives of young people around the world, Save the Children offers a vital helping hand to millions through education, healthcare and economic opportunity. For more than a century, the organisation has protected children’s rights to learn, to have access to nourishing food and to receive quality medical care.

Our team was proud to support the charity’s annual Christmas Jumper Day initiative, raising money to help children get the basics they need so that they can laugh, play and see the magic in the world again. On an occasion that sees schools, workplaces and youth groups all over the UK turning out in their favourite festive jumpers in support of those that need it most, we spent a fun afternoon getting creative.

Needle & Thread made a donation to Save The Children on behalf of each employee who joined in, as part of our ongoing commitment to the work of this vital charity, whose ambition is to ensure that by 2030, no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday, and all have access to basic education.

We gifted each team member a cashmere jumper which can be worn for years to come and invited them to get creative with a choice of sequins, baubles, ribbons, embellishments and festive decorations – all of them upcycled and reusable, in line with our sustainability goals.

The result was a selection of fun and festive designs. Some of the team went all out with shimmering baubles and tinsel, while others opted for pared-back chic, embellishing their jumpers with subtle snowflakes or a simple glittering trim.
‘At a time of year when not all children are lucky enough to experience the magic of Christmas, my team and I wanted to come together to help support a charity whose tireless efforts mean that the lives of millions are slowly improving.’ - Hannah Coffin
